my husband had a mesh inplant for his hernia 2 years ago and now he is in alot of pain . what is weird is where he had the surgery it was always a hard spot on his stomach and now it is gone. like the mesh patch maybe moved? And we can feel a little bump where the hernia was before.

MY HUSBAND HAS HAD TWO HERNIA OPERATIONS AND HAD THE MESH IMPLANT PUT IN AND HAS THE SAME HERNIA RUPTURED AGAIN TODAY......WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST I DO????

i had a double hernia operation they used the mesh its been a year and three months i had to be treated for infectin twice and i still have alot of pain and swelling 'my doctor said i must of done something to cause the swelling ' but i am disabled and can not work .i think they are trying to cover it up what should i do? yours truly swollen and in pain.

I have had hernia surgery in March 2009. The doctor used mesh to repair my inguinal hernia. I take stool softeners daily. My abdomen is swollen compared to how it was before the surgery. Constant bloating and of-course constipation. I recently went to the surgeon who performed the surgery, he stated "looks like your hernia has returned," I responded like duh? The surgeon stated looks like we need to replace the smaller piece of mesh with a larger piece of mesh, laproascopticaly

I have had 2 hernia surgeries, one was around 1996 and the last one in 1998. The second surgery was done at the same time my c section was done. The doctor said I had an abdominal obstruction, the lining of my stomach was ripped from the rib cage down and he said he didn't even know what they had put in me. I was in surgery for 6 hrs and developed a pulmonary embolism. I have abdominal pains bad. A lot of which are like charlie horses you get in your legs but I get them in my stomach. And knots form that I have to stretch back and rub until they go down. Also the top part of my stomach is very large, it's like I have the spare tire even when I don't have anything on.

More likely it was an inguinal hernia... and you probably experienced diverticulosis, which lead to your discomfort and diagnosis. Does that help?

I had a mesh implant back in 1989 and I have never been the same since I had no idea this was going on until now! I had a hernia and the doctor told me that he has a mesh and that it is a new procedure and after it was done I was in pain for weeks and it never seem to go away, every doctor that seen my hernia incision said they never seen a hernia scar like mine.
2 years ago I had blood come out from my penis and the doctors never understood why it happened, and after that I developed severe prostatitis that never goes away.

I had a mesh screen put in my groin to make.sure I didn't get blood clots I don't what what kind but I had trouble urinateing and pain a bunch of times went to the hospital and they said it was nothing then I read this and it makes me wonder if I should have them remove the screen now

THE DR. NEVER LET YOU KNOW ANY THING ABOUT THE PATCH. BUT I'M WONDERING MYSELF WHEN DOES THE PAIN EVER GO AWAY . I TO HAVE A BLUDGE THE ER DR. AND MY DR. TELL ME IT'S AIR AS WELL MAYBE ONE DAY WELL GET SOME TYPE OF JUSTICE AND PAIN RELIEF .

I HAD MY HERNIA PATCH DONE IN I THINK IT WAS DONE IN 03/07 WITH THE MESH PATCH BEING USED SENSE THEN I HAVE SUFFERED ALL DEFERENT TYPES OF INFECTION LOWER ABDOMINAL PAINS I'M CONSTANTLY HAVING TO TAKE PAIN MEDICATION FOR MY STOMACH. I HAVE FEVERS HAVE TO GO TO THE ER FOR ABDOMINAL PAINS I'M WONDERING WHEN IS THE PAIN AND FEVERS EVER GO AWAY ?

My husband had hernia surgery with this BARD medium patch and the surgeon used staples to hold it in place. Since then he is in constant pain and nerve damage. He has been on medication since 2001 - now suffering from side effects - what is our recourse for this disasterous surgery? We need to live as comfortable life as possible - can we be added to a lawsuit?

I got the same thing I got a patch on my right side (civilian), in 04 after basic training army wouldn't pay for it so I got stuck with it, in 05 went active duty and got hernia, have had symptoms ever since, I was even overdosed two clinics over perscribed me Vicoden and percoet at the same time, when I :"went crazy" they blamed it on my personality. Treated me like boy who called wolf, 5 years later it hurts, still makes me sick and doesn't feel right, and any time I gain lose weight I get sharp pain, I cant even enjoy sex with my wife, with out it hurting. I will not stop til the VA and Army fix it, they didn't count on me keeping my records.

hi the patch was called the kugle mesh patch large ovel one the date of my surgery was 2004 then i had 3 other surgery because of that i think it goes back to 2002 you may fine info in your medical records just what patch you have inside of you size and shape. good luck

you may find out by requesting his medical records ask for the mesh patch size number and what kind was put inside of him. the patch that i had was the kugle mesh patch the large one. not only did i have that surgery but 3 more after that one. god bless every one

i too have had all this problems i had 4 hernia operations my first one was the kugl mesh patch that was recalled. i have had diverticlos two time 3 bowl obstrutions i even worn home a cathater for a week its been hell all of this the hospitals have too give your record or they can be suit. when you ask for records tell them you want the hernia patch number and info on that. good luck

My father has been trying for 2 years solid to get information on this hernea surgery and patch. The hospital and Dr.s are doing EVERYTHING in their power to hide specific information on the patch they out in him. They just lie and say, " Oh, we don't know what lot number of patch they used, no no." They would prefer he dies so that they can be rid of him. He's in unbearable pain every moment of his life. No one will release his records. No ONE

I've have the very same symptom(s), and have had them since May of 2005. Have them on both side's of my goins area. While in the process of moving less then five month's after the second implant. "At one of North Carolinas' Veterans' Affairs' Medical Health Care Centers."
I felt something give inside of me on the very right-side. I'd then called some friends from the State of New York, and one of them worked for the states. New York State Department of Professional Discipline of Higher Learning, and she called me back with-in two days. then told me what they had found out about the patch and the "FDA(s)" recall and then she gave me both website's and asked me too call them back. Once, I have found what they had reported too me over then phone..and printed out the recall for myself.

The very next day. I drove two hundred and two miles, one way. Too my VA-doctor and told him and then showed him the side that I was talking about. He kept talking about the left-side. "While, I talked about the right-hernia-side." And, I kept saying to him, I'm talking about the one that was put in by New York, VAMC, in Manhattan.
I'd tried too show him the print-out from the web-siteand then. I saw something I'd had not seen since my childhood. That is "I see no evil, hear no evil,and I will not speak no evil of the VAMC-system.." He then just glanced at the four or six page print-out and flat-out said.

"We don't use those type of patch(es) and by this time, the FDA had put out a recallfor all hernia patches. "Not just name brand but, all of them. In short,if it walk's like a duck, quack's like a duck, swimm's like a duck, fish like a duck. "We want them, all recalled and removed." And now here I read that they knew about these thing's breaking way back in the 1990(s). And you put two of them in me anyway and lied about whatyou did or didnot use in me. Until, I got the Veterans' Affairs' Sub' Committee involed with this matter of gettingit removed from my right-side. Because it has caused my entire right leg to swell and my right foot and, I'd had deformed feet before this mess stated. It's in my medical records from the U.S.M.C., files. Found by Senator: Richard Burr, office and then they finally told the truth about what they did use in me.

The brand-name, stock number, and serial number as well. And that was just the latter part of last year. I have copy and I sure hope that they kept a copy of that letter. "Before, I was just hated by the entire "VAMC-system, now they just dispirited my Black @#$%&..."
They still refuse to remove both patch(es), because they willnot be told waht too do by anyone, lest the "FDA, The U.S. Congress and The Unite State Senate!!" This is our hospital and we make the rules here and if he come(s) inhere again... Waving some recall document(s) from the FDA again. Talking about saving his sorry "Baclk @#$%, and his leg... We will arrest him again, denie him the right too callhis lawyer(Uncle), and fine him another $297.00. And have him sitting around here in this court-room all day again... "We do not careif you haven't had a good night sleep in the past seventy-two hour's and we don't care just how far you have too drive back home!!" Die like a man.. And do what the rest of the men do down here, do come to the hospital if you want too live a healthy en long life. A heart attack may-not kill you but, we sure as "hell-will!!"

I had hernia surgery 6/09, with a large oval patch being used..the bulge is still here, and even seems to have been pushed lower to my right side, and growing..when I question my dr, he says the bulge is air space and it will be this way for a while.is this normal? Please advise..thanks

I have had a double hernia and since the mesh patches where put in. I have had blood clots in my right leg. DVT in the right leg. They have done 3 surgerys to correct the hernia to try and corrected the DVT in the right Leg. I have experienced sharp pain in my right groin and at the surgery site. Unexplained fevers and nausea through out the days. Pain in the right leg can be unbearable.

i had a ingronial hernia in june 2007 mesh was used but it was so fast i dont what was used it was done at the emergency room in oregon the hospital wont give me my records as to what they used since than i have experienced diverticlosis twice and dignosed with lots of ulcers i would like more info please can someone help me figure this out tired of the discomfert
